Joel Halpern is a Distinguished Engineer with Ericsson, where he has worked since 2009. He currently co-chairs two working groups in the routing area. Over the years he has held a number of roles in the IETF, including service as Routing Area Director from 1994 to 1998 and serving as Nomcom chair for the 2008-2009 appointment cycle.
Joel has participated in many industry fora and standards bodies over the years, ranging from the Frame Relay Forum and SMDS Interest group through others, and more recently, the MEF Forum. He is currently active in the Broadband Forum.
